Kapta Space develops low-cost, electronically-steered radar sensors for satellites, built on metamaterial antenna technology pioneered by its founders. The company’s architecture delivers large-area, high-resolution geospatial intelligence at significantly lower cost and latency than conventional spaceborne radar, targeting two markets: commercial synthetic-aperture-radar (SAR) imaging—including millimeter-scale InSAR change detection for mining, energy, and transportation—and defense applications centered on space-based Moving Target Indication, or the persistent tracking of mobile land and sea targets in electronic-warfare-contested environments. Kapta is pursuing a partnership-driven model that pairs its sensor with existing satellite buses, launch services, and data pipelines.
