Co-founded in 2024 by veteran advanced manufacturing founder and CEO Adam Hopkins (Princeton PhD) and Berkeley Professor of Materials Science and Engineering Rayne Zheng, Sensetics is creating programmable fabrics backed by AI-powered software that grant a user the ability to feel in real time what a remotely operated vehicle, surgical tool, robot, or person is feeling, all at the resolution of the nerve endings in our fingertips. Sensetics controllers are ultra-low latency, thin and flexible, and unlike today’s touch screens, are durable, do not require capacitive contact, and can take any shape. Together, these capabilities vastly expand the use cases for touch capture and playback to mirror those of its audio and visual counterparts, with applications in medical robotics, tactile data artificial intelligence, gaming, immersive simulation and training and more.
